The term "small biopsy" is an oxymoron as a biopsy refers to the removal and examination of tissue from a living organism, usually for the purposes of diagnosing a condition. The word 'biopsy' comes from Greek words ‘bios’ meaning life and ‘opsis’ meaning view or appearance. A small biopsy would mean taking a very little amount of tissue which is not possible as it defeats the purpose of obtaining enough sample for examination.
